Whiplash & Car Accidents
Many people tend to just shrug off car accident pain as nothing and say “it will go away eventually.” You may be setting yourself up for arthritis down the road! Joints of your spine are like tires on a car, if the alignment is off the tire will wear unevenly and it will have to be replaced early. Well, in the spine if the alignment is off, as in what happens in whiplash, the joint will wear unevenly and you will end up with arthritis eventually. Typically after an auto accident your care is fully covered under insurance so there is no reason to not get checked out! After seeing thousands of motor vehicle accidents and whiplash cases over the years we are fully capable of handling any non-life threatening injury from auto accidents.
Dr. Yarbrough specializes in Flexion Distraction chiropractic and Decompression for Disk Injuries. Typically when you injure a disk you have radiating pain down your arm or leg, sometimes you even have muscle weakness where you can hardly walk. Typical severe disk injuries you will have pain when trying to go to the bathroom. If you notice you have not urinated for an extended period of time, please go to the Emergency Room.
The disk does not have blood flow to it like most of our tissue so when it is injured it takes a long time to repair it. We can speed this time up significantly by applying certain decompressive forces to the specific disk. This creates negative pressure within the disk which sucks in nutrients and will push out inflammation. Many times people will experience relief within one or two visits! This Significantly shortens the time of recovery! We even have had many patients end up CANCELING spinal surgery because they were symptom free within two weeks of treatment!
